Balance
1. Bean Bag Balance The student will travel to various parts of the gymnasium while maintaining balance of a bean bag on different parts of the body (a) hand; (b) shoulder; and (c) head.
2. Crazy Cones Small cones will be scattered on their sides. The student must make the cones stand up properly by using only their feet.
3. Hula Hoop Hut The first hoop should be placed on the floor as the foundation. Four more hoops are placed at a forty-five degree angle inside the foundation to form four walls. The sixth hoop is placed on top to hold the walls in place and form the roof. After the house is complete, the student should attempt to pass through the hoop without knocking down the hut.
Cardiovascular
1. Dance The student will move to the beat of the music and clap his/her hands.
2. Jump Rope Run The student will hold one end of a jump rope. He/she will run in any direction and the teacher will attempt to grab to empty end of the rope.
3. Oscar the Grouch The student will feed (throw/drop) Oscar (the tunnel) with yarn balls. A basket will be placed at the one end of the gymnasium with yarn balls. The student will pick up one ball from the basket and then run to the tunnel while trying to throw the ball inside the tunnel.
4. Tricycle or Big Wheel The student will ride a tricycle or big wheel around the gymnasium.
5. Scooter Basketball One student will sit on the scooter with the net attached to it. The balls that are spread around the gymnasium will be picked up by the other student and placed into the net on the scooter.
Hand/ Eye Coordination (HEC)
1. Frisbee The student and teacher will stand approximately ten feet away from one another. A modified, nylon frisbee will be utilized until the student can safely progress to a plastic one. The student will be encouraged to place their hands in front of their body prior to receiving the throw.
2. Paddles and Balloons The student and teacher will hold onto Styrofoam paddles. They will attempt to continuously hit a balloon in the air.
3. Roller Racers The student will sit on the roller racer with his/her feet propped up on the bar in the center of the scooter. The hands should be placed on the handlebars that are on the side of the scooter. The student will operate the roller racer by repeatedly moving the hands from one side to the other.
Progressions: Students will (1) race to desired objects in the gymnasium; (2) maneuver around cones; (3) throw and retrieve a Frisbee; (4) pick up objects and throw them into a screen.
4. Scatch Catchers The student will hit a tennis ball on the hard side of the paddle. Then, upon receiving the ball, the student will turn the paddle to the Velcro side. The ball should remain on the Velcro when contact is made.
Progression: The student and teacher will continuously hit the tennis ball on the hard side of the paddle.
5. Table Hockey The student and teacher will stand at opposite ends of the table facing one another. Then, they will attempt to hit a puck into the opposing goal.
6. Target The student will throw bean bags into a target.
Progressions: (1) increase the distance; (2) use screen with smaller targets; (3) throw smaller objects.
7. Ice Cream Cones - Tape a circle and two diagonal lines on the gym floor that will signify an ice cream cone. Allow the child to place a hula hoop on top of the circle (ice cream). Then, ask the child to place jump ropes on the lines (cone). Once the student has created an ice cream cone they may begin the game. The student should stand at the bottom of the cone with several beanbags. The beanbags are the jimmies or chocolate chips for the ice cream. The object of the game is for the student to throw the beanbags into the hula hoop.
8. James Bond - Tie a rope to two objects that will not move. Ask the student to either sit or lay on a scooter or scooter boat. Then, have the student pull themselves to the opposite end.
9. Australian Tennis - Provide the student with a paddle and a beach ball. Ask the student to hit the beach ball under the net. The instructor should continuously return the ball to the student. Progression - The student will hit a (1) smaller ball, (2) multiple balls
10. Quarterback Challenge - Hang one hula hoop on each basketball rim. Then, give the student a small football. Have the student pass the ball back and forth until they are in front of the hoop. Then, the student may try to throw the ball though the hoop.
11. Wall Ball The student will throw a rubber ball against the wall in order for the teacher to catch the ball. Then, the teacher will throw the ball against the wall for the student to catch.

13. Shooting Hoops Provide the students with several garbage cans or objects for the students to throw objects into. Then, position hula hoops in a line leading up to the desired target. Place various materials in each hoop (i.e. bean bags, yarn balls, wiffle balls). Instruct the student(s) to begin at the closest hoop and throw the objects that are in the hoop into the cans. When the student(s) make the shot, they may progress to the next hoop.
14. Number Knockdown Position bowling pins on top of cones that are equally spread apart. Also, place number in front of each cone that has a pin on it. You may also place two of the same numbers in front of the same pin but at different distances. This allows the student to select their degree of difficulty. The student should begin at number one and progress to the end in order of sequence once the pin is knocked off the cone. This can be done with a football, rubber ball, or wiffle ball.
15. Frisbee Fandango The student will hold Frisbees while listening to music. The Frisbees will be used to touch the floor, body parts, clap, and perform various movements.
Sport-Related Skills (SRS)
1. Basketball The student will attempt to shoot a basketball into the hoop. The student will be encouraged to place two hands on the ball. Also, the ball should be positioned above the students head.
Progressions: (1) Students who are unable to extend their arms can attempt to hit a beach ball that is placed inside of the hoop with yarn balls; (2) The student should utilize the lowered, modified hoop before progressing to the regulation size hoop; (3) The student may shoot from a position other than directly in front of the basket; (4) The student may attempt to shoot while moving.
2. Floor Hockey The student will practice hitting a large, colored whiffle ball with a Styrofoam hockey stick. The student will place their dominant hand on the center of the stick. The non-dominant hand should be positioned at the top of the stick.
Progressions: (1) while moving; (2) hitting pins; (3) in a goal
3. Football The student will catch a small, rubber football from a short distance. He/she will be encouraged to place his/her hands in front of the body in order to catch the ball with the hands and not the body.
Progression: (1) at or into a target (2) while moving
4. T-Ball The student will be provided with a variety of bats and large whiffle balls inside of a basket. The teacher will position the batting tee next to a chair that the basket (with the balls) will be placed on. The student will place his/her feet on the tape for proper foot alignment. The teacher will stand at the opposite end of the gymnasium with an empty basket. The student will hit all of the balls that are inside of the basket. The teacher will retrieve all of the balls and place them into the empty basket. When the student has hit all of the balls, the teacher and student will exchange baskets.
Progressions: The student will attempt to hit a ball that is (1) bounced, (2) thrown underhand, (3) thrown overhand.
5. Volleyball The student will practice continuously hitting a beach ball in the air.
Progressions: (1) different size balls; (2) over a net; (3) while moving
6. Bowling The student will attempt to knock over bowling pins.
7. Lacrosse The student will attempt to catch and throw a ball while using a lacrosse stick.
8. Tchoukball The student will attempt to throw and catch a ball at a tchoukball screen. Progressions: (1) sitting; (2) standing; (3) while moving
9. Soccer The student will kick a soccer ball into a net.
